New Salad Sandwich Recipes! October 07, 2008 |
Issue #011 Welcome:Hi , Welcome to the eleventh edition of the The Salad Bar, a newsletter to keep you up to date on the website: Easy Salad Recipes.comHere's what's new this month... "The Salad Bar" will now be a quarterly newsletter as I am taking on other projects which take up much of my time. This website is growing slowly but not fast enough to warrant a monthly letter. This summer has been a busy one with various projects being started but I did manage to put together a few new recipes. I did a little experimentation with ramen noodles and cabbage to make some interesting and tasty noodle salads. Here is the first one:
New RecipesRamen Noodle Salad Recipe Ingredients: 1 package ramen noodles
Dressing: 1/2 cup salad oil Directions: * In a large bowl mix together all vegetables, sunflower seeds and almonds. * Mix dressing ingredients into in a small bowl and whisk until blended. * Add dressing to salad and mix well. -Cook the Noodles Last: * Crumble dry noodles and add to boiling water for about 2 minutes (the packages usually call for 3 minutes but you don't want them too soft). * Drain them into a colander immediately and give them a quick rinse with cold water. Drain and let cool * Mix noodles into salad, cover and refrigerate until ready to eat. Pictures of this salad and more like it can be found Here.
2-New Recipes Coming SoonMy fishing season will be starting this month so it's "Back to Reality" for a while. In the meantime I am presently gathering ingredients to make a few versions of the world famous Waldorf Salad. This is a fruit salad first created around the late 1800's at the Waldorf Hotel in New York City. For those of you who are Monty Python fans you may remember the episode of Python member John Cleese's "Fawlty Towers" show where he is asked by an American tourist to make one of these.
Next Issue Coming in JanuaryThank-you for reading this letter and visiting my site. The next installment will come out in January 2009. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me Here.Cheers...Gordon Angrignon. |
