A Simple Waldorf Salad January 27, 2009 |
Issue #012 Welcome:Hi , Welcome to the twelfth edition of the The Salad Bar, a newsletter to keep you up to date on the website: Easy Salad Recipes.comHere's what's new this month... Well, 2008 has rolled into 2009. It's been a slow season for salad-making as fishing has been my major activity since October. We've finally had a break so it's back to the kitchen again for a while. After a few false starts due to being called to the fishing grounds at various intervals I have finally completed getting a tasty Waldorf Salad together. As usual I made a simple one as this shows you the basics. You can play with it later by adding optional ingredients. Here it is:
Waldorf Salad RecipeIngredients:1 apple-cored and cut into 1" cubes
Dressing: 2 tbsp. mayonnaise
Cut up apple, celery, grapes and add to salad bowl. Add walnut pieces as well. Mix dressing in a small bowl. If you are using juice from a real lemon grate some of the rind and add it to the mix. If you are using lemon juice from a bottle skip this ingredient. Add dressing to bowl and toss salad well. Refrigerate for 1 hour before serving.
