Bacon and Broccoli Salad Recipe
A bacon and broccoli salad recipe may not sound like a very healthy dish to make but don't let the bacon scare you away just yet-it's cooked well done and crumbled to avoid most of the fat. If this is not satisfactory you can use turkey bacon instead-It has much less fat than regular bacon. Ingredients: 1-2 bunches broccoli 1/2 cup chopped celery 1/2 cup raisins 6-8 strips bacon or turkey bacon
Dressing: 1 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup vinegar 1/4 cup sugar Cook bacon until crispy and set aside. Cut up broccoli flowerettes into bite-sized pieces, leaving just a little stem. Cut up enough for about 4 cups of flowerettes. Add raisins, onions, dressing and toss salad. Refrigerate salad for 2-3 hours or overnight. Crumble bacon and add to salad just before serving. * Dressing can be substituted with your favorite bacon ranch dressing. * Bacon bits can be used in place of bacon.
