The creamy dressing can be made with yogurt rather than mayonnaise, or mixed 50/50. You can use any vinegar for either dressing if you don't have any apple cider vinegar. You can also use any bottled dressing or vinegarette dressing if you would rather not make one. Ingredients: 1-2 bunches broccoli 1/2 cup purple onion 1/2 cup raisins 1 apple 6-8 slices bacon(optional) Dressing-Creamy: 1 cup mayonnaise 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar Dressing-oil/vin: 1/2 cup salad oil 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 tsp. dry mustard salt and pepper to taste If using bacon, cook it until crispy, crumble it and set it aside. Chop broccoli flowerettes and onion into small pieces and put in salad bowl. Cut up enough for about 4 cups of flowerettes. Add raisins and your choice of dressing to the bowl and mix well. Chop apple and mix pieces into salad immediately so they are coated with dressing to avoid browning. Refrigerate salad for a few hours before serving. If using crumbled bacon, add just before serving.
